So I went to the gym after work the other day. This was not just any ordinary gym trip...it was to the Provo 24-Hour. I think I experienced what they call 'sensory over-load'.
First thought: WOW, there is A LOT of really cute, small and hot girls here, I can't figure out why every single guy within a 15 mile radius isn't here getting a girlfriend...I am baffled.
Second thought: Why is there a bunch of sicko's here preying on all the cute girls here. (Yes, I realize this is contradictory to the above statement, but I am just walking you through my thought process.)
Third: Wow, how often does that dude come to the gym...sheesh, meat-head.
Fourth: Wow, how often does that girl come to the gym...sheesh, she's obsessed.
Fifth: Why are people looking at me, leave me alone and let me sweat and feel fine about it.
Sixth: I guess I should stop staring at these crazy people in this crazy place too...I'm just so, so...I don't know what I am, I can't think straight anymore.
Seventh: Is this what they call a meat-market?
Eighth: Holy crap, all the treadmills are taken, I don't know what to do. Next thing you know I'm on the treadmill that counts in kilometers, but I don't realize that until half-way through my run, so meanwhile I think I'm suddenly faster and more fit than ever-before.
Ninth: I'm glad I'm not wearing shorts, or guys would totally be looking up them as I do sit-ups right now. (Innocent BYU students, I think not.)
Tenth: Should I ever come back here again? That was an emotional and physical work out.
WOW.

That does sound like sensory over load, but I do think you should go back. You know you like Provo guys checking you out. Just don't wear too revealing shorts when you're doing your crunches. And you know you're hotter than all those little girls.
First off, you ARE one of those hot, little girls. Second, EVERY time I went to Gold's gym in provo, orem or anywhere close, I felt like it was a meat market...what? you mean you are supposed to sweat? well that would just ruin my hair/makeup that I just spent an hour perfecting! Yep that's how everyone was...I totally feel your pain. Don't let it stop you though :)
I remember that place oh so well. So many creepsters it is unbelievable. Whatever you do, DO NOT make eye contact. It is the only key to a good work out. I promise you that. It might not work for you, guys will probably think you are worth the awkward, um how do I get her to look at me moments. But be brave and be strong and just run your little behind off!!!
OH MY GOSH!! So hilarious! You have painted a perfect picture of that gym. I want to see some more posts about specific gym-goers, like Girl Who Wears the Most Eyeliner, or Guy Who Grunts the Loudest, or Guy & Girl Who Work Out the Least, or my favorite, Girl Who Wears the Shortest Shorts EVER but Proudly Sports Her CTR Ring. :)
Oh and P.S. I HATE the treadmills there that count in kilometers. What the?! I fell for their trick many a time.
Well I have never experienced that particular gym, but I think there are creepsters at every gym. I agree with Em, be strong! :) You're very good at writing. I could totally see the whole situation! Miss you!
Was that a gym in orem? I'm not surprised... I bet I treat many of the girls you saw! jk How I miss you too.. and I did hear about Jesse and Dianna- tragic- but I'm must say i'm not surprised, I knew from the get-go they weren't meant to be. Also, I hope Jason doesn't be so stupid as to go for HER again- I heard his bachelor season starts in January anyways, so get excited!
Okay I absolutely love your post. You made my day and I have to say that there are those girls at EVERY gym. I just have to chuckle when they come in the gym with all the their makeup on at 5:00 in the morning! I want to tell them to just go back to bed.
That is too funny! That totally sums up what every girl would be thinking! You are beautiful!!You know those guys were looking you up and down too! You are a such a little hottie! Way to work out! Can you go for me!? I really stink at staying in an exercise routine! We really do need to do lunch! When are you avail? Just let me know and we will plan something! I miss you! Love ya!
Linz-Coop!
I love it! That is so true. I miss you girl. I love all your photos with your family at the beach too. That looks like so much fun.
