On the road...again

This morning I was driving to work and I had my ipod on shuffle. A Disney song may or may not have started blaring through my speakers. I started dancing like a child. In my car. By myself. While driving to work.

At this point it seemed like a really great idea to just go to my Disney playlist and hear what it had to offer me for the rest of my commute.

Suddenly, I found myself back in my memories of me as a child dressed in my sea green full-body unitard dancing around my living room to medleys like, Kiss the Girl all the way to I Just Can't Wait to be King. I remember singing at the top of my lungs to the latter thinking I was quite possibly the best singer ever. Had I known about American Idol at the time I probably would have half expected them to knock on my door and recruit me.

I got caught up in the lyrics, "Everybody look left. Everybody look right. Everywhere you look I'm standing Spotlight." As I looked right I made eye contact with the driver in the lane to my right and was immediately brought back to reality and immediately felt embarrassed.

Good times. I personally always smile when I see people singing/dancing in the car. Perhaps they usually have others with them to share the moment though...

Okay, you are going to love this because Boston is OBSESSED with 'I just Can't Wait to Be King'. He makes me blare it in the apartment and he jumps around on the couches. I have recorded it because it is hilarious... I should post it for you! I'm so glad you enjoy that song as much as my 3 year old! Miss ya.

The only way this story could have been any better (and made me laugh harder) is if you were driving with the windows down and if the driver next to you chimed in after you, like Zazoo the bird "Not yet!" and then if everyone else commuting starting singing "Let every creature go for broke and sing... let's hear it in the birds and on the wing...." something like that... That's the only way it could have been better. I am jealous that you have several Disney songs on your ipod... you inspire me.

Laura, I love Boston even more now. Perhaps when you get back he and I can have a dance party! I want to see the video!

Angi, that was simply delightful, I couldn't agree with your statement more!

Never Feel Embarrassed, Just simply ask the driver next to you to join in. I have never had one so no. :)

I ALWAYS dance in the car. I feel like my shakin and groovin might help someone next to me who gets a laugh. And I can check that off as compassionate service, no?
